They SaySelena Gomez ("Ramona and Beezus" co-star):
1. "Me and Joey went shopping a lot. I spent a lot of time with Joey, not only because I wanted to get to know her because we were playing sisters but I ended up becoming a great friend with a nine-year-old! She knows everything about me now. Kids see black and white and they're just fearless. They either say 'yes' or 'no'. I think you lose that when you get older with getting heartbreaks and getting trampled on. Your guard goes up and you start overanalyzing things too much. That's what I appreciated about Joey, she just didn't care. She's so honest. So, now I have her looking at my dresses and listening to my music and asking 'what do you think?'" 2. "When we were leaving the production for the last time, we were in the bathroom crying and she said, 'I don't mean to be rude but you really look like crap right now'. I spent 30 minutes laughing after that." 3. "I met one of my best friends, who is a nine-year-old, on that movie! And she is incredible, adorable and a sweetheart!" 4. "... And a little girl who is wise beyond her years and makes me pray and sing with her when I'm having a bad day (Joey King)" 5. "Joey is wise beyond her years, I honestly can't believe that this is her first lead role because the way she comes on set, she just brightens it up, the whole set, just by walking in. She's always making us laugh, she always keeps us on our toes, you don't know what's gonna come out of her mouth and she's just a sweetheart, very polite, which such amazing parents and that definitely shows." Elizabeth Allen ("Ramona and Beezus" director):
1. "She's so honest. Her performance hasn't built up any barriers. Some adults get intimidated because she's so raw and real. I truly believe she can do anything. She's only 10 and can improv, do any accent and cry completely on cue." 2. "Playing the part of Ramona Quimby is a girl named Joey King, who was 9 when we filmed it. And to be able to carry a movie on her shoulders was a tricky task, but she is effervescent, she is hilarious, she's kind, she's a good soul in every way." Bridget Moynahan ("Ramona and Beezus" co-star):
1. "Joey is quite a remarkable actress. She's 9 and 9 months, she keeps telling me, very exact, but she's way ahead of her age and maturity, and talent, and vocabulary. She's got this great balance of still being a little kid, but being a professional. I mean, she's in every scene, she carries this entire film and she's doing a remarkable job."
John Corbett ("Ramona and Beezus" co-star):
1. "Joey is one of those little girls that really stand out and she's got so much going on upstairs. I mean just amazing, you know? Amazing little mind on this one. Yeah, I'm lucky I get to work with her. She's 9 years old and 9 months, plus 38 years. You know, I don't have to change my questions or my tone or, you know, anything else when I'm talking to her, she's a special little kid."
Sandra Oh ("Ramona and Beezus" co-star):
1. "Joey is a very spirited 9-year-old girl, you know? She is her own little person. I think this production is exceptionally lucky that they have Joey, because not only is she, you know, very free and spirited and game, she's very directable, in ways that I think are such a blessing."
John Erick Dowdle ("Quarantine" director & writer):
1. "Here we have Joey King, who is just a wonderful young actor. She could really hang with anyone, she's so cool and so older than her age." 2. "And she did all her own stunts, which we'll talk about later. Yeah, she's just a trooper." 3. "This stunt about to come up, um, Joey King, um, our stunt coordinator actually trained her to, you know, get thrown and land. And he trained her with pads, you know, where she'd land in these pads and, you know, he kept going thinner and thinner pads. She actually gets thrown on this hard floor and she was such a pro. I mean, she handled it, no prob." Drew Dowdle ("Quarantine" producer & writer):
1. "Yeah, she's the only kid on our set and you wouldn't cast her when you'd see her hanging with the other actors. She really just, was one of the gang." 2. "And Joey just always wanted to do more [stunts], she was fearless." 3. "This is a fun scene, you know that Columbus and Joey King, the actor who plays Briana, had a really great relationship on set, they were just buddies all the time, just really close and, so, for Columbus to meet his end at the hands of Joey, was pretty fun." Camille Cellucci ("Grace" director & writer):
1. "I took a risk casting 5-year-old Joey King as Grace given child labor laws only allowed me to work her for 3 hours each day. I feel richly rewarded by this risk..."
